The ocarina is one of the oldest musical instruments ever found. Dating back to prehistoric times, they are considered "vessel flutes," because of their unusual spherical shape. Although they are most commonly made from clay or ceramic, they can also be made from plastic, wood, glass, metal, bone, or even animal horn.
