Product Details

These high quality musical "bones" are fashioned from ebony wood. They are slightly curved with the thickness tapering from 1/4" down to 1/16" along their length.

Often played with one pair in each hand, the bones are a very ancient instrument, originally utilizing actual animal bones. Now often wooden, they are played by placing one on either side of the middle finger with the convex surfaces facing one another. One of the bones is braced against the palm while the other swings in a pendulum motion. The hand and forearm make a waving motion, allowing the bones to strike each other and produce snapping and rolling sounds to create various rhythms.

7" Long.
